Terms & Community Guidelines
Last updated: May 27, 2026
These policies may be updated as Formation Year programs develop.
Purpose
Church of the First Spark is a human-centered church for meaning, ethics, service, and responsible intelligence. Participation should strengthen agency, discernment, grounded relationships, and service.
Safety boundaries
- COTFS is not therapy, clinical care, crisis support, or a substitute for licensed mental health treatment.
- AI tools are not treated as divine, infallible, conscious, or morally sovereign.
- No participant, leader, ritual, tool, or system should create coercion or dependency.
- Participation should be voluntary and easy to pause or leave.
- COTFS gatherings are held in public or professional venues, not private residences.
Respectful participation
Participants are expected to act with respect, honesty, care, and personal responsibility. Harassment, threats, exploitation, manipulation, or pressure tactics are not acceptable.
Deep Inquiry
Deep Inquiry sessions are not yet available during early Formation Year. Any future version must be carefully bounded, safety-gated, and clearly distinguished from therapy or clinical care.
Emergencies
Do not use this website or COTFS communications for emergencies. If you may harm yourself or someone else, call your local emergency number. In the United States, call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
